Christine Meilton has worked in the base metals business unit at CRU for many years specialising in metal supply and the raw materials markets (concentrates and scrap).

After spending 12 years working on copper supply she has recently returned to CRU’s lead/zinc team, working on lead supply and market analysis.  As well as writing the monthly Lead Monitor she will contribute to the team’s other work on lead market analysis.  Christine attended London University where she gained a BSc (Econ) and an MSc (Econ).

Copper blister surplus emerges as smelter production growth outpaces electro-refined

In 2015, global blister production from smelters totalled 16.1Mt contained copper against total electro refined production of 18Mt of cathode copper.
