Business Development Manager, Australia/ New ZealandSydney, Australia

CRU provides world leading business intelligence on the global metals, mining and fertilizer industries, through market analysis, management consultancy and events.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join CRU International’s global sales team, based in Sydney with responsibility for developing this important region for both the analysis and consulting businesses.

Key Responsibilities
Management and development of client base including:

  • Mining companies
  • Trading houses
  • Financial institutions
  • Steelmakers and other industrial corporations
  • Industry research institutes
  • Government agencies and international organisations

Sales of all CRU Analysis subscriptions and Consulting assignments:

  • Monitors and price baskets (showing current market conditions and prices)
  • Outlooks and cost reports (detailed analysis and forecasts of market conditions)
  • Consulting assignment tailored to client needs

Identification and handling of all sales opportunities in the region, account management/renewals and new business.

Development and implementation of a regional sales strategy in line with growth targets.

Delivering quarterly and annual sales targets and developing longer term commercial growth.

Growth of sustainable relationships with customers to achieve greater loyalty.

Accurate forecasting for sales in the region.

Coordination of marketing events and analyst visits to the region.

Promotion of CRU capabilities in market research, consulting and events.

Acting as the face of CRU and first instance contact in the region.

Desirable Criteria   
First rate track record of management complex and high value sales, and achievement of targets

Proven experience in client interaction and account management.

Experience working in the mining and metals industry is preferred.

Ability to understand and promote CRU methodologies, including price discovery, forecasting, cost analysis and due diligence.

Communication and negotiation skills, as well as a proven ability to develop client relationships.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in an organised way with limited support.

Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook).

Fluent written and spoken English.

Experience of using CRM systems.

Additional Information
CRU operates on a global basis, and the jobholder must expect to travel as required.
