CRU International is looking for a Compliance Lead to join the firm. This newly created role will ensure that the business complies with its regulatory requirements as well as meeting the standards set by industry codes of practice.

You will be responsible for reviewing, setting and enforcing internal procedures, policies and standards, ensuring these evolve in line with any changes in the external compliance landscape. You will also have a particular focus on compliance related to commodities pricing due to CRU’s position as a major Price Reporting Agency in the metals, mining and fertilizers space.

You will be both internal and external facing and be comfortable liaising with auditors, regulatory authorities and external stakeholders as well as commercial partners to lobby and represent CRU’s views externally. You will have the ability to pragmatically and effectively implement any required change within the business, and work with regulators and other external stakeholders to both meet their requirements and represent CRU’s interests where appropriate.

Ideally, you will be degree educated with previous experience in a similar role or regulated environment. You will have demonstrable knowledge of good corporate governance including governance of financial derivative markets, experience of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influencing organisational change to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Essential Criteria
Degree educated, ideally in law or finance

Excellent experience in the regulatory landscape in relation to commodities pricing, IOSCO principles and European Benchmark Regulation (BMR) with good working knowledge of price benchmark laws and regulations

Experience of internal monitoring, audits, policy drafting & maintenance and risk assessment

Knowledge of the principals of good corporate governance, supporting & effecting organisational change and embedding of new processes

Experience building effective relationships and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders, across different geographical markets and regulatory jurisdictions

Effective critical thinking and analysis skills, oral and written communication skills including ability to track and meet schedules and deadlines, analyse and interpret the significance of documents and factual information and analyse and interpret applicable laws and rules

Ability to work independently, with confidence and minimal supervision

Demonstrable experience in efficiently and effectively manage assigned projects and meeting project deadlines, including establishment and communication of clear expectations, and the utilisation of good time management skills
