CRU’s Marketing team is looking for a hands-on Marketing CRM and data specialist to take ownership of the sales and marketing database, and to develop and lead the company’s customer and prospect data initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will be expected to drive innovation in data management, maintenance, enhancement and usage plus manage and administer CRU’s CRM system, Salesforce. Key to the role is ensuring marketing campaigns are driven by up-to-date and accurate data, bringing new techniques to data usage/segmentation and improving the company’s data processes.

Key responsibilities:

Drive the company’s data and CRM optimisation across the business

Drive the CRM strategic roadmap by implementing data-mining and segmentation techniques, and identifying behavioural patterns

Assist the sales and marketing teams in getting the best out of the CRM system, to include data selection, data research, and campaign analysis

Set up data processes/rules and implement, to include but not limited to: quality assurance, data standards, data cleansing, de-duping, data enhancement (profiling), segmentation, and reporting/analysis

Maintain the data, including checking duplicate reports and routinely cleansing the data in collaboration with the marketing teams

Manage all incoming contacts/leads and all data preference requests, ensuring records and contact preferences by channel are kept up-to-date within the CRM system

Management of the company’s preference centre

Lead and enforce data management best practice within the company

Produce regular reporting on data health and identify areas for improvement/cleansing/enhancement

Manage external data partners (including management of the data research functions) and collaborate with the internal technology team on data and reporting projects

Train internal stakeholders how to use and maintain the company’s CRM system

Working with the marketing and sales teams to raise the profile of the company’s CRM system and data activities, and maximise effective and efficient usage of the database

Where appropriate, create fair usage rules on data by business owner and channel

Maintain the database in line with current legislation, including but not limited to, GDPR etc.

Essential Criteria

A degree from a British university or equivalent level qualification from a leading university outside of the UK

Proven experience as a data specialist

Fluent communication skills in English

In-depth understanding of CRM system development and maintenance

Solid experience of data mining, list building, data management/manipulation and analysis with knowledge of SQL desirable

Solid experience of data cleansing/managing merge/purge functions

Strong organisational and project/budget management skills

Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Familiar with Google analytics, e-broadcasting software (Adestra or Eloqua) and/or Salesforce Sales Cloud/Pardot

Meticulous eye for detail

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams concurrently and gain buy-in from key stakeholders
