Working alongside industry experts, you will play a key role within our consulting division, providing in-depth and insightful knowledge on a wide range of exciting and often confidential global projects. You will develop successful client relationships and promote CRU Consultancy service to a wide range of potential clients. This position will give you the opportunity to lead part of a dynamic, supportive and truly international team and will offer unrivalled commodity exposure and experience.
You will be working with project managers within CRU C in the development and delivery of our varied consulting projects. In addition, you will be outlining the strategy for conducting the research, securing adequate resources from within Consulting and the wider business.
The ability to provide intellectual leadership, develop client relationships and manage a team will be the keys to your success in this role.
A top degree (first or 2:1) from a top university, further degree (master’s degree with merit and/or PhD)
Extensive experience in copper and other base metals or in a business within the sector, for example producer, manufacturer, trading company, strategy consultancy etc.
Goal-oriented, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm; able to operate efficiently, effectively and professionally within a fast paced, dynamic and results driven business environment
Enthusiastic regarding delivering the highest quality projects to every client; Responsive to client needs but commercially minded
Experience of managing and leading a team, preferably within a consulting environment
Exposure working across multi-locations with different cultures
Ability to lead, influence and motivate others, develop and mentor members of the broader consultancy team and provide clear direction even in situations involving ambiguity and uncertainty
High level of corporate awareness, able to understand the wider business context and demonstrate a commitment to supporting cross-organisational activities
A thought leader with respect to the economics of commodities and proven commercial experience in the application of new thought to business issues
Strong background in maths and/or economics
An analytical mind-set and able to get to grips quickly with the intricacies and complexities of the economics and data that drive our business and strategy
A confident and strong negotiator with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly (both verbally and in writing), and build and maintain trusted and collaborative relationships at all levels
Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Fluent written and spoken English
Management qualifications would be an advantage in this role
CRU operates on a global basis, so the jobholder must expect to communicate across offices and time zones
