We are looking for a highly skilled and meticulous HR Assistant to join our HR team. You will be a key member in our small internationally focussed team, and will need to ensure our processes, platforms and employee experience enable CRU to operate efficiently, effectively and with robust insights and data. Covering a broad spectrum of HR and Payroll activities, the individual will work with the HR team, Finance, Employees and Leaders to make things work smoothly whilst having a continuous focus at improving and enhancing the employee experience.

The HR Assistant’s roles and responsibilities will include:

HR Administration

  • Assisting with the management of HR enquiries, fielding to other HR team members where necessary
  • Maintain HR records and ensure GDPR compliance
  • Process HR invoices
  • Responding to requests for tenancy and employment references
  • Assist with training activities (booking, recording, set up)

HRMIS and Data Insights

  • Assist with maintenance of HRIS, continually looking for ways to improve and enhance the system
  • Support organisation with data access and reporting (including security resets)
  • From HR Systems, extract and produce monthly and ad hoc reports and developing insights from the data

Recruitment and Onboarding Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment campaigns and processes, through planning, interview scheduling, screening, advertising and data capture
  • Generate offer letters and contracts of employment
  • Pre-joining background screening
  • Manage invoices
  • Visa application processing and tracking

Payroll

  • Oversee preparation, and review of monthly payroll for processing (payroll is outsourced but requires internal processing, validation and reconciliation)
  • Collate and upload monthly pension contribution reports along with employee changes to CRU’s pension company
  • As necessary support internal or external audits, and the issues of P60, P11ds

Lifecycle management

  • Collating new joiner surveys and exit interview information, developing insights and trends from the data
  • Updating leaver documentation for payroll and e-files
  • Process and approve leave, flexible working, maternity, etc requests, advising managers and employees employment law or best practice guidance
  • Assisting with performance improvement plans, providing support and guidance to managers

Policy maintenance

  • Enhance and develop handbooks and policies according to organisational and legal requirements

 Compensation and Benefits

  • Support data submission and extractions to market intelligence surveys
  • Oversee monthly benefit enrolments and reporting as required as well as supporting with annual benefit enrolment periods

Knowledge and Experience required:

  • Solid previous in-house HR experience with knowledge of payroll, HR systems, and HR Processes
  • Knowledge and experience of developing reports and insights from people data
  • Experience of process enhancement/improvement with ability to gain stakeholder buy in
  • Experience of HR system development
  • Good knowledge international employment regulations would be advantage
  • Experience of using HR Information Systems such as Sage People
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with others to reach mutually agreeable outcomes

  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Fluent written and spoken English
