You will be responsible for creating and delivering Commodity Dashboards and Issuer Asset Cost curves to Fitch Ratings (Fitch) on a regular basis, collecting the necessary data and developing improved delivery of the dashboards. You will work collaboratively across the business to deliver the Fitch customer strategy and content to Fitch as well as increasing the efficiency of the data delivery processes.
As an expert user of CRU’s Cost Models, you will work closely with cost modellers around the business to improve data quality whilst also creating and communicating processes for the delivery and dissemination of the costs curves. You will also work with the team to improve the quality of cost data received into the business as well as seeking better data from mining investor relations (IR) teams.
You will also be expected to contribute to data process development and data management initiatives to improve the Fitch-CRU deliverables process and respond to requests and enquiries from Fitch analysts as required. You will also provide project assistance, as a multi commodity market expert, across other CRU projects as required.

A degree (minimum grade 2:1) from a top British university or equivalent level qualification from a leading university outside of the UK, specialising in Mineral Economics, Energy Economics, Mining Engineering, Maths, Economics or in a similar field
3-5 years professional experience in a related field
Strong quantitative background and a creative thinker based on a robust approach to data/modelling with the ability to construct a compelling narrative and have the confidence to express and defend position clearly
A desire to develop external client management relationships and manage those relationships effectively
Goal-oriented, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm; able to operate efficiently, effectively and professionally within a fast paced, dynamic and results driven business environment
Aptitude to learn new systems such as CRU Cost Model and Thinkcell
Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Fluent written and spoken English
A Master’s degree from a top British university or equivalent level qualification from a leading university outside of the UK, specialising in Mineral Economics, Energy Economics, Mining Engineering, Maths, Economics or in a similar field
Experience in mining, metals and/or energy
Familiarity with mine/industrial cost modelling processes
Proficiency in Excel’s advanced data management capabilities
CRU operates on a global basis so the jobholder must expect to communicate across offices and time zones to effectively support the Fitch relationship and CRU's Cost Model Services. Some business travel outside of the UK may be required.
