CRU’s growing Fertilizer analysis business is looking to add a talented and motivated individual to their team.

As Nitrogen Consultant you will provide forward looking research on the Nitrogen market for CRU quarterly Outlook publications and annual Nitrogen cost service. This role involves the editorship of the Ammonia Outlook, which is produced every three months. This requires primary research trips and also coordination with other team members who contribute to the Ammonia Outlook. You will also be actively involved in communicating the key findings to clients worldwide on a face to face basis and at conferences.

Key Responsibilities    
To be the editor of CRU’s quarterly Ammonia Outlook taking the analysis lead for this product to:

  • Ensure the timely delivery of an excellent quality report.
  • Coordinate with team members across our offices in Beijing, London and Mumbai.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with market participants and CRU’s Nitrogen clients.
  • Analyse and interpret the latest data relating to production, trade, consumption and inventories.
  • Delivery of quality data and presentation of our analysis in written form, graphically and verbally in both formal and informal settings.

To represent CRU confidently to clients and at industry conferences.

Plan and organise overseas primary trips to Ammonia and Nitrogen plants.

To participate in the development and improvement of the portfolio of Nitrogen research products.

Desirable Criteria
A top degree (first or 2:1) from a top British university or equivalent level qualification from a leading university outside of the UK.

Experience in mining and metals and/or energy and agriculture.

Background in economics, maths, geology or chemistry.

Good quantitative background and a creative thinker based on a solid approach to data/modelling.

Goal-oriented, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm; able to operate efficiently, effectively and professionally within a dynamic business environment.

An analytical mind-set and able to get to grips quickly with the intricacies and complexities of the economics and data that drive our business. Ability to translate this into written analysis.

Creative approach to problem solving.

Ability to interact and influence others in a collaborative team environment.

Responsive to client needs and ability to proactively communicate key research ideas to clients.

Cognisant of the importance of sharing knowledge and ideas in a constructive and supportive way.

Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Fluent written and spoken English.

Additional Information
CRU operates on a global basis, and the jobholder must expect to travel 5-10% of the working time.
