The role will require you to use your strong quantitative background and robust approach to data/ modelling, in combination with creative problem solving, to addressing our clients’ problems.
You will be constantly faced with new and challenging questions from our clients. You must be flexible and open to profitably developing both existing and new areas of research and to staying relevant to our clients. The role will require a strong commercial focus.
Among other activities you will:
The ideal candidate will have an top undergraduate degree from a well recognised university, plus a postgraduate degree.
5 to 7 years experience either as a consultant in the metals and mining sector or in a business within the sector, for example metals producer, Manufacturers association, trading companies, NGO etc.
Fluent written and spoken English (every candidate will complete a written analysis test)
Strong background in maths and/or economics
A thought leader with respect to the markets for commodities and proven commercial experience in the application of new thought to business issues
Strong quantitative background and a creative thinker based on a robust approach to data/modelling
Experience of managing and leading a team, preferably within a consulting environment
Exposure to working across multi-locations with different cultures
Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Management qualifications would be an advantage in this role
Direct line management responsibility will be limited, however for every project a team will need to be drawn from the global pool and directed to profitably deliver the work
CRU operates on a global basis so the jobholder must expect to communicate across offices and time zones
