Senior Consultant, PotashLondon, United Kingdom

CRU’s market-leading Fertilizer Team is seeking a talented and motivated individual to head-up our research of Potash.

Specifically, this role involves the editorship of the Potassium Chloride Outlook, which is produced every six months. Finally, it encompasses the editorship of the Potassium Sulphate and Nitrate multi client that is published every 2 years. For the right person, this position will deliver external client engagement, growth in industry profile and provide the opportunity to be part of the management of a dynamic, supportive and truly international Fertilizer team.

Key responsibilities
To be the editor of CRU’s Potassium Chloride Outlook taking the analysis lead for this product to:

  • Ensure the timely delivery of excellent quality report.
  • Work with other team members across our offices in Beijing, London and Mumbai.
  • Develop and maintain outstanding relationships with market participants and CRU’s key Potash clients.
  • Analyse and interpret the latest data relating to production, trade, consumption and inventories.
  • Delivery of quality data and presentation of our analysis in written, verbal and graphical form, in both formal and informal settings

To manage the editorship of the Potassium Sulphate and Nitrate multi client report published every 2 years (next edition November 2017).

To represent CRU at a senior level confidently to clients and at CRU and industry conferences.

Plan and organise overseas trips to mines; Potash processing plants; CRU and Industry conferences within the Potash travel budget.

To manage a process to maintain and develop a structured approach to data collection, storage and analysis.

To ensure consistency in our data, our forecasting methodologies and our approach to analysis.

To actively participate in the development and improvement of the portfolio of Potash products.

To work with sales and marketing in order to maximise sales of our analytical products.

Desirable Criteria
Proven depth of knowledge in your existing work area.

Proven analytical skills (ability to critically analyse data and identify trends and key drivers).

The ability to construct and articulate a well reasoned and logical argument, evidenced by supporting data and with clearly articulated assumptions.

First class communication skills, both written and verbal.

Excellent attention to detail.

An ability to individually work to strict deadlines and also to deliver products, which include contributions from several analysts, to strict deadlines.

Commercial awareness, demonstrated by a keen awareness of the current performance of your product(s) and proven ability to spot an opportunity.

A team, business unit and company player, with a desire to lead and inspire other team members.

Industry experience is preferred.

Degree educated.
