Chris has 22 years' experience in the steel industry and joined CRU in April 2008 following a ten-year career at Tata Steel.

At Tata, Chris worked in technical mill-based roles and in commercial functions at both business unit and corporate level. Latterly, Chris moved to Tata Steel's Corporate Strategy department where he was responsible for the group's industry analysis and steel price forecasting.

Chris currently leads CRU's Analysis division, responsible for CRU's price, forecasting, cost and emissions subscription services for metals, mining, fertilizers, financial, government, NGO and downstream sectors. Before then, he led CRU's Steel Team where he was previously an analyst and editor of leading services. Here he also presented and debated at renowned industry conferences, provided expert witness testimony and has been widely quoted in the media.

Chris has a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics from the University of Durham, a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Sales & Marketing from Loughborough University, is Chartered Institute of Marketing-qualified, and has an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School in the UK.
