At Tata, Chris worked in technical mill-based roles and in commercial functions at both business unit and corporate level. Latterly, Chris moved to Tata Steel's Corporate Strategy department where he was responsible for the group's industry analysis and steel price forecasting.
In his current role at CRU, Chris leads CRU's team of semi-finished and finished steel analysts in Beijing, Mumbai, Pittsburgh, Santiago and London. Chris has presented and debated at renowned industry conferences, including those of CRU, the Shanghai Futures Exchange, Alacero (Latin American Steel Association), Aço Brazil (Brazil Steel Institute), provided expert witness testimony and has been quoted in the media, including Reuters and the BBC.
Chris has a BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics from the University of Durham, a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Sales & Marketing from Loughborough University, is CIM-qualified, and has an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School in the UK.
