Solomon joined CRU in January 2022 and is responsible for production and cost data for all North American, Middle East & CIS copper Supply assets, in addition, he contributes to the development of the Concentrates Information database.
Solomon has over 10 years’ experience in the industry – spanning greenfield mineral exploration, mine operations, finance and consulting. Having worked as a geologist, he covered a variety of technical and operational roles at Trevali’s Rosh Pinah Zinc Mine. He subsequently joined a mining-focussed private equity fund to support financial, technical due diligence of projects covering several commodities and jurisdictions. His interests lie in commodity markets and using technology and analytics to optimize operations.
Solomon holds a dual master’s degree in Metal and Energy Finance from the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College London Business School, United Kingdom, a masters in Mineral Resource Management from the University of the Freestate and an Honours in Geology from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is a registered member of the South African Council of Natural Scientific Professionals (SACNASP). Solomon is based in the London office.
