Lydia joined CRU in April 2022 as a Senior Consultant for Steel and Raw Materials and is based in the London office. She has over 10 years’ experience in industry and uniquely diverse metallurgical experience from working in technical and managerial roles in steelmaking and processing at Tata Steel and in downstream industries (automotive and motorsport)
Before joining CRU Lydia worked as a Chief Metallurgist for a leading manufacturer in the
automotive and motorsport industry. She had previously worked at Tata Steel in technical roles
and gained intimate knowledge of EAF steelmaking and remelting and insight into downstream
industries. She has experience with customer technical support and working with suppliers
across Europe, America and Asia. Lydia also had exposure to Tata Steels’ and competitors’
BF-BOF steel mills across Europe.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield
and a master’s degree in Advanced Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University. She is
also a chartered engineer and a professional member of the Institute of Materials,
Minerals and Mining (CEng MIMMM).
