Philip brings to CRU wide experience in the mining industry gained over more than 30 years in mining and mineral processing operations, business development, marketing, and consulting. Philip has worked for producers of copper, bauxite/alumina, industrial minerals and gold/silver in several countries. He has particular interests and expertise in project assessment, technology innovation, mineral commodity sales and marketing strategies. While at CRU he has worked on a range of projects involving copper, aluminium, zinc, tin, uranium, manganese, ferroalloys, alumina and magnesia.
Prior to re-joining CRU he was a Key Account Manager for Golder Associates based in Vancouver Canada. Previously he was Vice President, North American Operations for Gekko Systems, a producer of innovative technology particularly focused on gravity separation and leaching in the gold and silver industries. He has been involved in the development of a number of projects based on magnesium oxide. Earlier in his career, he worked at Bougainville Copper in Papua New Guinea for three years and at the Gove bauxite and alumina operations in Australia.
Philip holds a BEcon degree from the University of Sydney, Australia, a Grad Dip in Applied Finance and Investment, awarded by the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and an MBA from the University of Oregon, USA.
