David Royle

David Royle joined CRU in February 2021 as a consultant. Prior to joining CRU, David was finalising his Master’s in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) at the University of Zurich.

David has worked in the Australian Parliament House as a Senatorial staffer and helped to edit an academic book on the topic of energy regulation, environmental issues, and law in the European Union and was published by Palgrave MacMillan.

Since joining CRU, David has gained experience across a wide range of commodities, with a focus on ferrous and battery metals. David has tackled a number of major projects and boosted CRU’s analytical capabilities in renewable energy sectors and traditional bulk markets.

David’s skillset combines his prior policy experience with CRU’s in-house market expertise to deliver bespoke strategy and market advice to clients with a focus on ESG and economics.
