Manjot is the Editor of CRU’s Metallurgical Coal Market Outlook and Metallurgical Coal Long Term Market Outlook reports.
He produces demand/supply and price forecasts by evaluating the influence of economic, geopolitical and sector-specific risks. In addition, he conducts analysis of project pipelines, M&A activity in the coal industry and evaluates NPVs of coal assets by studying their marginal costs of production and future cash flows.
Manjot joined CRU in July 2018 to lead CRU’s metallurgical coal analysis service. He has more than 4 years of experience in advisory businesses, focussed on commodities research. Prior to joining CRU, Manjot was an Energy Analyst in the Analytics division of S&P Global Platts, where he produced coal market forecasts and coal-to-gas switching analysis using econometric theory. He was also involved in long-term scenario planning research catered around global coal, gas, LNG, oil, power and renewables.
Manjot has a background in Mechanical Engineering and also holds a Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance from Singapore Management University (jointly awarded by Cass Business School, London).
