Tong Tong

Tong is a Senior Analyst, covering stainless steel raw materials (nickel, chrome and molybdenum) in CRU's Base & Battery Metals Business Unit.

Prior to joining CRU, he was leading global silicon metal and ferrosilicon market research in Wood Mackenzie's metals and mining team. Before Roskill was acquired by Wood Mackenzie in 2021, Tong was responsible for steel alloys research in China, including bulk and noble alloys. He previously held analytical roles with Trafigura, Hewlett Packard (HP) and Nielsen in China.

Tong joined CRU in January 2024 and is currently based in Shanghai, China.

Tong holds a Master of Science degree with Distinction in Marketing from Queen Mary, University of London and a Bachelor degree in Economics from Northwest Normal University.
