Senior Analyst, AluminiumPittsburgh, United States

CRU North America is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Analyst to join their Aluminium Analysis team. This role is designed to support/lead research and intelligence gathering efforts in the scrap, primary, and downstream aluminium markets with a key focus on the North American region.

To be successful in this role, you will be expected to demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, including an advanced working knowledge of Excel, forecast modelling, and the ability to critically analyse data in an efficient manner. You will be expected to attend and actively participate as a speaker in industry conferences. In addition, proactive client engagement and continuous relationship building will be critical to your success.

For the right person, this position will offer the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the aluminium markets and contribute to CRU’s market-leading publications as part of a well-established global team.

Essential Criteria

Undergraduate degree

Fluent written and spoken English

3-5 years’ experience working in the aluminium industry or relevant metals industry

The ability to construct and articulate a well-reasoned and logical argument

Experience in presenting to all organizational levels, both in private client/company settings and to large audiences.

Excellent attention to detail and the capability to work accurately with numbers

The ability to perform under pressure and deliver contributions to strict product deadlines

Be a team/company player and work flexibly with colleagues across businesses and geographies

Commercial awareness

Goal-oriented, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm

An inquisitive mind to obtain information that helps CRU provide a unique understanding of markets

Approachable, with a positive and collaborative attitude

The ability to act as a mentor for more junior talent

Delivery focused and a passion for quality and innovation, willing to accept and drive change

Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

First class communication skills, both written and verbal

Desirable Criteria

Masters’ Degree

Prior experience working as a market/commodity/equity analyst

Project management experience

Additional language skills

Additional Information 

The role will require travel to support ongoing client engagement and to promote the CRU brand at industry conferences.
