Green Premiums on aluminium

Green Premiums have become a big topic over the past few months but still very little is known about them. CRU has recently developed a new model called the Emissions Analysis Tool (EAT) that measures emission levels at aluminium smelters. The model is quickly becoming a benchmark in the industry and it is now a key part of the recently launched LMEpassport, the LME’s brand new digital credentials register. We aim to use that model to support our assessment of green premiums and by doing so we are confident they will become one day the benchmark for the industry.
