About the role:

CRU is seeking a Senior Analyst to lead its carbon product market services, with a focus on battery anode markets. This role combines advanced analysis, data leadership, and client engagement to deliver high-quality subscription services, strategic insights, and proprietary datasets. You will work closely with teams across Aluminium, Battery, and Clean Technology to shape market-leading coverage and support revenue growth and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape CRU’s short and long-term views on global carbon products markets, with a primary research focus on China and the APAC region
  • Lead CRU’s carbon product market services and enhance research across battery anode markets
  • Build, maintain, and analyse large datasets supporting carbon product market coverage
  • Develop timely, high-quality insights, forecasts, and proprietary datasets for a global client base
  • Use advanced modelling and data techniques to support Battery and Clean Technology services
  • Build a strong industry profile through conference participation, high-quality insights, and media engagement
  • Act as a trusted adviser to key clients and wider industry participants
    Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients and industry stakeholders
  • Lead client meetings, demos, and webinars, and use feedback to shape product, content, and modelling
  • Deliver CRU analysis at industry events and conferences
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to support new business, renewals, go-to-market activity, and media engagement
  • Organise, update, and analyse key data series used in customer deliverables
  • Own analysis and forecasts for CRU’s Carbon Product Services
  • Conduct primary and secondary research, including building relationships with market, industry, and institutional contacts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Further education certification in a subject relevant to commodity research, such as geology, economics, or engineering

Skills & Experience:

  • More than 5 years’ experience in commodity research
  • Direct industry experience highly advantageous
  • Strong ability to gather and critically analyse both soft and hard data
  • Highly numerate with the ability to interpret, manipulate, and manage large datasets
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and processes
  • Strong quantitative background and creative thinking ability
  • Experience delivering against personal and team objectives, targets, and deadlines
  • Understanding of the commercial drivers of a subscription business
  • Ability to maximise revenue and profit while delivering value for clients
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Confidence and stature to earn client trust through clear communication across all mediums
