Hugh Greene has over 25 years’ consulting and leadership experience in the resources sector, covering transactions, strategy, commodity marketing and decarbonisation.

After studying engineering at university, Hugh began his mining career as a logistics analyst with Rio Tinto’s Industrial Minerals product group. He subsequently held a variety of strategy, marketing and logistics roles with their aluminium and copper businesses in Europe, Asia and North America, developing his leadership skills and deepening his knowledge of mining and metals value chains.

In 2015, he transitioned into consulting, working with miners, refiners, traders, and oil and gas majors on a wide variety of projects including transactions, business improvement and decarbonisation.

He now leads CRU’s global consulting business, with teams in EMEA, APAC and the Americas, serving industry participants, investors and policy makers across the world. He believes strongly in creating value for clients by combining our consultants’ deep industry expertise and problem-solving skills with CRU’s world-class analysis and insight.
