30 April 2026, London: CRU, the global commodities experts, has appointed Hugh Greene as its new Global Head of Consulting reinforcing its leadership in guiding clients through the energy transition in the global commodity markets. Hugh, who joined in early April, brings proven, hands-on experience in developing decarbonisation strategies for major resource companies, directly aligning with CRU's commitment to helping clients navigate the industry's most complex challenges.

Hugh brings over 25 years of distinguished consulting and leadership experience in the resources sector. His extensive expertise covers transactions, strategy, commodity marketing, and the decarbonisation of mining and metals value chains. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of strategy, marketing, and logistics roles with aluminium and copper businesses in Europe, Asia, and North America, deepening his leadership skills and knowledge of the sector.

As the new Global Head of Consulting, Hugh Greene will oversee the global consulting team and lead in providing independent and proprietary advice to the world’s leading metals and mining companies, investors, financial institutions, and governments. His team will leverage CRU’s unrivalled business intelligence, market insight, and commodity data to deliver game-changing strategies.
